Contributor's Corner: If You Were James Bond
During the dawn of Viddy Well, we asked each interested contributor to fill out the same questionnaire. The questions spanned from grave to goofy, but the replies were nearly always unexpected. This week we'll take a look at the following question:
If you were James Bond, which iteration would you be?
Dave Mcdermand:
I'm going to go with Roger Moore's Moonraker for the stupid fact that I would absolutely give up all the chances of having sex with whatever trendy playboy cover at the time on the most beautify preserved tropical beach casino for a chance to float around and fire a laser gun in space. I'm thinking about it now and I have goosebumps. Just imagine being weightless in a shiny plastic helmet, blasting "Pew Pew" beams of energetic light as you calmly drift above a tranquil earth. Just imagine watching the clouds move like vapor through atmosphere with a bunch of guys that look like MTV movie awards. I'm struggling to imagine a more pleasant feeling. Really.
Kie Richardson:
I’m probably going to be slammed for this, but I’m bracing myself for the fall. I’m not a huge Bond buff -- the only Bond’s that I know are Connery and Brosnan. Obviously, Craig has recently come into the picture, but I’m going with Connery because he made that shit look good. Second would definitely be Brosnan because of Goldeneye N64, that brings back so many memories to me as a kid.
Tanner Standridge:
I'd be the Pierce Brosnan James Bond! Can I be the video game version of him though?
Brenda Torres:
I actually haven't seen that many James Bond movies to differentiate between all of them very well, but I will say this: it would be interesting to be a white male, period, but James Bond even more so... Oh what the hell, Daniel Craig!
Jake Bottiglieri:
Roger Moore, because I think I'm cooler than I am and people hate me the more they think about me.
Anthony Cleveland:
Moore, of course. He had personality and whit, even while surrounded and immersed in very un-Bond like settings (space, Louisiana, ect). Plus, he's got the only movie that plays a little in the horror genre.
Aaron Haughton:
Picking a James Bond is hard because there are so many, and there are basically two answers to the question: the one you think you'd be, and the one you really are. I'd like to think I'm Sean Connery; however, if I'm to answer it honestly, and I will, I'd really be someone like George Lazenby, which I know probably has you muttering to yourself, Which Bond is Lazenby? To which I say: precisely. I'd be Lazenby because the reality is I'd be the Bond that no one's ever heard of and who's film has been mostly forgotten. Also, for the record, Lazenby was in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I just saved you from Googling it. You're welcome.
